PAUL HERNANDEZ is now Mount Wachusett Community College’s vice president of academic and student affairs, the first to hold that position at the Gardner school. In his new role, Hernandez oversees student experiences within the school and education in Mount Wachusett classrooms. He joins the college from his previous role as chief diversity officer at Lansing Community College in Michigan. Hernandez earned his doctorate in sociology from Michigan State University, a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University Los Angeles, and an associate degree in liberal arts from Los Angeles Community College.

MIKE FLAHERTY is the new head of sales for the New England business insurance sales team at the Marsh & McLennan Agency, which has offices in Worcester, Boston and Providence. Flaherty previously worked in new business development for Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc., and USI.

KRISTJON IMPERIO of Lancaster is the new program director at the Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester. Imperio, a pianist, organist, conductor and composer, oversees all aspects of the school’s private lesson and student performance programs. He joined the school as part of its new initiative that joins its move into downtown Worcester this fall.

Security First Mortgage Funding in Worcester has promoted DUSTIN WIRTZBURGER to vice president and manager and BRIAN TANKERSLEY to vice president and sales manager. Wirtzburger replaces former president and manager RICHARD MCNALLY, who has retired. Wirtzburger joined Security First Mortgage Funding, a subsidiary of Millbury Federal Credit Union, five years ago. He has a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College in Worcester and lives in Rutland. Tankersley, of Worcester, joined the company 10 years ago when the company was founded and heads sales and sales support in his new role.

MATTHEW MYERS, the marketing and communications manager for the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce in Fitchburg, has been appointed to the Northeast Board of Regents of the Institute for Organization Management. The board is responsible for recruitment, retention and marketing of the institute, which is a professional development program for association and chamber professionals.

JASON VEILLEUX has been named executive chef and ERIC ZEDIKER chef de cuisine at Peppers Artful Events in Northborough. Veilleux is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and brings more than 20 years of experience in catering and restaurants. He was most recently the executive sous chef at The Catered Affair in Boston. Zediker has more than 18 years of experience in the food industry and was most recently the executive chef for Tavern in the Square, including opening the group’s Shrewsbury location. He attended Johnson & Wales University.

SEAN HALLORAN of Paxton has joined Complete Payroll Solutions as a regional sales manager, leading a team of sales professionals who work with Boston-area businesses. Halloran as 20 years of sales experience and most recently served as district sales manager at Paychex. He earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Clark University.

LEAH MOTSIS of Holden has been promoted to the Worcester Railers’ director of corporate partnerships, from her position as manager of corporate partnerships. She was previously the advertising and sponsorship sales manager for the DCU Center. The Railers have also hired MELLISSA LAFLEUR, a former intern, as the corporate fulfillment coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nichols College in Dudley.
