BRENDA NIKAS-HAYES and TERRY SZYDLIK are new associate directors at Girls Inc. of Worcester. Nikas-Hayes, of Westborough, is the associate director of the Eureka! STEM & Leadership Program. She is a board member of ArtsWorcester and on the committee for POW! WOW! Worcester. Szydlik, of Worcester, is the associate director of year-round programs and mentoring. She previously worked for Worcester Public Schools and for the United Way of Central Massachusetts.
JAMES CURRAN is the new senior vice president and regional manager for Central and Western Massachusetts for Connecticut-based People's United Bank. Curran, who is based in Worcester, has more than 30 years of experience in banking. He has been an active member of area groups including the North County Chamber of Commerce, Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
KERRY ANN GOLDSMITH is replacing STEPHEN H. YERDON as executive director of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health of Massachusetts and Rhode Island following his retirement after 23 years in the position. Yerdon, who is retiring as of Dec. 31, joined the service agency for those with cognitive and behavioral challenges when it was a $9-million organization with 100 students at its Rutland location. During his tenure, it grew to a $36-million agency with nearly 500 employees in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Goldsmith has been Deveroux's assistant executive director for 10 years. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Worcester State University and a master's degree in counseling psychology from Assumption College.
Central One Federal Credit Union in Shrewsbury has made five promotions. MICHAEL ROONEY, who joined the credit union in 2004, has been promoted to executive vice president. JOE ROLLO, an employee since 2013, is now the vice president of finance. BILL HAMILTON, who joined in 2004, is now the director of facilities. EVA POLYMEROS, an employee since 2005, has been promoted to director of card services. ANGELA DESIMONE, who has held various branch positions since 1997, is now retail coordinator.
BETHANNE GROCCIA is the new chief human resources officer at Oriol Health Care, which owns and operates Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston and Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Groccia, of Auburn, has an MBA from Assumption College and has worked in executive human resource leadership positions for more than 15 years.
KURT THOMPSON of Templeton, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty-North Central, is now the treasurer of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. Thompson was voted to the position on Dec. 7 for the 2018 year. Thompson, a Realtor since 1997, has served on a number of other real estate boards, including a term in 2011 as the president of the North Central Massachusetts Association of Realtors. As the Massachusetts Association of Realtor's treasurer, he is responsible for determining financial needs, investing funds, preparing monthly income and expense statements, and an annual operating budget for the association.
YOU Inc., a Worcester behavioral health agency, has appointed two new vice presidents. KRISTIN MAYOTTE has been named a vice president for strategy and program development, and ANNE FINE an vice president for behavioral health. Mayotte has been with the agency for 24 years, most recently as the education and employment component director. She will focus on developing new and innovative services. Fine has been with YOU Inc. for 12 years, most recently as director of outpatient services. She will focus on collaborations relative to behavioral and physical health integration.
JESSICA STOTT is the new director of center-based services for Behavioral Concepts of Worcester, a company caring for children with autism. Stott, a Medway native who lives in Hudson, has a bachelor in psychology at Endicott College and a master in applied behavioral analysis from Simmons College. Stott re-joins Behavioral Concepts after working as a behavioral analyst for the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District.
