Worcester State University President BARRY M. MALONEY has been appointed to the Saint Vincent Hospital board of trustees for a three-year term. Maloney, the Worcester State president since 2011 and a Worcester resident, chairs the Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts and serves on the boards of directors for the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, the Worcester Business Development Corp., and on the boards of trustees for the Wilbraham & Monson Academy and Spectrum Health Systems.
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has hired GLICERIA ZANNOTTI, VASKE GJINO, and ZAVEN DONOIAN, and promoted KAREN PELLETIER. Zannotti, a Worcester resident known as Lili, is the new program and events coordinator and will help manage more than 200 annual events. She has previously worked at the College of the Holy Cross and Assumption College. Gjino, a Worcester resident with a bachelor in economics from Clark University, where he is working toward his MBA, is the new economic development associate. Donoian, a Worcester resident with a bachelor in communications from Fitchburg State University, will assist the vice president of marketing and communications. Pelletier, also of Worcester, has been promoted from director of higher education and business partnerships to vice president of operations and director of education and workforce development. She has been with the chamber since 2014.
ELENA FERRANTINO is the new outreach and site supervisor for Language Bank, an interpretation and translation service part of Worcester-based Ascentria Care Alliance. Ferrantino, a certified Russian/English medical interpreter, is responsible for recruiting and supervising interpreters for healthcare organizations, schools and financial and legal businesses throughout the state.
CHRISTINA ANDREOLI is the new senior vice president in the private banking group at Berkshire Bank. Andreoli, of Holden, was previously the president of Discover Central Massachusetts and executive vice president of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and before that, chief of staff to Worcester City Manager Michael O'Brien. Andreoli is working out of the 386 Main St., Worcester, office of Commerce Bank, a division of Berkshire Bank that Berkshire bought last year. Berkshire has also hired CARMINE GUARINO as the new senior vice president for retail branch banking and market leader for Berkshire Bank's Greater Boston region. Guarino, who previously spent 33 years at Citizens Bank, will work with Berkshire's Boston leadership team to develop market strategies for building client relationships.
ELINOR MODY has joined Reliant Medical Group's rheumatology department and is now accepting patients at the 425 North Lake Ave. office. Mody received her medical degree from Duke University, where she completed her residency. She spent 26 years at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where she was the medical director of its Fish Center for Women's Health, and co-director of its Center for Skin and Related Musculoskeletal Diseases Clinic.
