MARY ANN STEIN, director of volunteer services and community outreach for Marlborough Hospital, was appointed president of the Massachusetts Association of Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services. She will oversee an eight-person executive board, five area chairs, and an association of more than 50 members. Stein served as the group's Area 2 chair for Central Massachusetts for the past two years. She has served as the hospital's director of volunteer services for six years and incorporated community outreach into her role two years ago.

PAULA A. AIELLO was nominated to serve on the United Financial Bancorp Inc.'s board of directors. She will also continue to serve as a board member for its subsidiary, United Bank. Aiello is chief financial officer and vice president of administration for Youth Opportunities Upheld, of Worcester. She is a certified public accountant and lives in Shrewsbury.

FRANK COLLINS was named regional president of Energy Efficiency & Sustainability Consulting, which just opened its first location in New England, in Marlborough. Collins has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, marketing and sales. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine in Orono and an MBA from Babson College.

RICHARD SARTORI was named operations manager of Princeton Scapes Inc., in Sterling, a landscape management company. A certified arborist, Sartori was most recently branch manager for a commercial landscape company in Southern California. Prior to that, he was an account manager at Waverly Landscape Associates in Belmont.

MELISSA LORD was appointed to the board of directors for the MassBay Foundation, of which she's been a member since last year. The Marlborough resident is a supervisor at Shepherd & Goldstein LLP, an accounting firm in Worcester.

DONNA BARBIERI was hired as a vice president and commercial loan officer at North Brookfield Savings Bank. She formerly worked for Fleet Bank, now Bank of America, and People's United Bank.

Also at North Brookfield Savings Bank, PATTY OSTROUT, LAURIE WISNIEWSKI, TAMMY MARTIN and COURTNEY FITZMAURICE were promoted. Ostrout, a vice president, will serve as senior vice president of retail banking. She has more than 25 years in banking and started with NBSB in 2012. Wisniewski, operations manager, was promoted to vice president of operations. She has held different positions at the bank since 1985. Martin, a branch administrator, was promoted to assistant vice president and branch administrator. She's a graduate of Worcester State University. Fitzmaurice, credit analyst, was promoted to assistant vice president and commercial portfolio manager. She joined the bank in 2011. Fitzmaurice earned a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University.

GERIANNE BEANE and JACKIE FOTI MALLOY were hired as real estate agents at ERA Key Realty Services in Marlborough. Beane worked as a receptionist for Re/Max First Choice, and as an office administrator for both Distinctive Realty and Key Realty Services after the two merged. Malloy, of Hudson, previously worked as a Realtor with William Raveis Real Estate in Sudbury. She's a graduate of Dean College.

DAVID HARMON was hired by Clinton Savings Bank as senior vice president of commercial lending. He previously worked as vice president of commercial lending at Commonwealth National Bank, which became United Bank in 2009. The Chelmsford resident is a graduate of Framingham State University.

DR. JEFFREY BAXTER has been appointed chief medical examiner of Spectrum Health Systems of Worcester, a substance abuse and mental health provider. For the past five years, he has served as medical director of Spectrum's outpatient treatment centers.

COURTNEY M. O'REGAN was hired by Middlesex Savings Bank of Natick as a marketing officer. She previously worked for Boston marketing and public relations firms, including Rhino Public Relations and Peter Arnold Associates; ING as a communications manager for government and corporate clients; and as communications director for Integrated Design Group Inc. The Holliston resident is a graduate of Boston University.

Also at Middlesex Savings Bank, LISA F. LOPES and ANDREW J. SHERRY were promoted. Lopes, assistant branch manager, was promoted to community banking officer based in Wayland. The Hudson resident has held various positions with the bank since 1998. Sherry, assistant branch manager, was promoted to community banking officer based in Needham. The Framingham resident joined the bank in 2005 as a teller and later served as head teller.

CHRISTOPHER AGOSTINO was hired as East Coast regional sales manager for Vaccon Co. of Medway, a vacuum pump company serving the automation and robotics industries. He has 20 years of technical sales and engineering experience selling directly to manufacturing, engineering and government customers, most recently with Océ/Canon North America. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Babson College and is a resident of Ayer.

DR. RYAN FILLIPON was hired by Southbridge-based Harrington HealthCare as an internal medicine physician in the Spencer office. He joins Dr. Talal Bou-Harb and his brother, Dr. Nicholas Fillipon, at the practice, both of whom he had worked with before taking a position with Whitney Internal Medicine in Hamden, Conn., in 2011. Ryan Fillipon earned his medical degree from New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He is board certified in internal medicine.

DR. ROBIN GAY and DR. MONIKA KOLODZIEJ were hired by Reliant Medical Group in Worcester as psychologists. Dr. Gay will practice at the group's site on Plantation Street; Dr. Kolodziej will be based in Leominster; and both will also practice at the North Lake Avenue site in Worceste. Dr. Gay earned a master's degree in psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York City. Dr. Kolodziej received her master's degree in psychology and her doctorate in clinical psychology from Syracuse University. For the past 15 years, her work has focused on assessment and treatment of co-occurring substance addiction and mental health issues.

ELLEN BENZ has been named executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester, which helps immigrants, refugees and others with basic English literacy skills. Benz, a Worcester native and Wellesley College graduate, has experience in marketing, fundraising, and volunteer management, and runs an event-planning business.
