DRS. SHANNON SHORT and KENNETH YEBOAH are joining Southbridge-based Harrington HealthCare System. Dr. Short, who is board certified in family medicine, will work in the Harrington Physician Services office in Brimfield. Short earned her medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the founding college of Midwestern University, in Downers Grove, Ill. She previously worked at The Generations Family Health Center in Putnam, Conn., where she was the sole physician. Before that, she was senior medical officer and clinical services department head at the Naval Branch Health Clinic at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Ga. Dr. Yeboah is an internal medicine physician. He will work out of the Webster office on Thompson Road. He earned his medical degree from the University of Ghana and completed his internship at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.
B. JOHN (JACK) DILL and W. THOMAS SPENCER were named to the board of directors at Worcester-based Fallon Health. Dill is president and CEO of Colebrook Realty Services Inc. of Springfield. He had been executive vice president of SIS Bancorp and SIS Bank (now TD Bank). Spencer is managing partner of Spencer Financial LLC of Sudbury. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brown University.
RYAN MOUGENEL was hired as assistant coach of the Worcester Sharks hockey team. He spent last season as assistant coach of the Hershey Bears. Before that, he spent four years as head coach of the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers.
CHRISTOPHER GRASSO and JOCELYN GARDNER were hired by Shrewsbury-based design and event-planning firm Elevation Exhibits & Events. Grasso is director of CAD and estimating. Gardner is the firm's new account manager.
DEBORAH PENTA was elected chair of the Westborough Economic Development Committee. Penta, the founder and CEO of Penta Communications in Westborough, succeeds Lester Hensley, CEO of EMSEAL Corp., in Westborough, who served from 2011. Penta has been a member of the committee since 2010.
JESSICA McGARRY was promoted to assistant vice president and business lending officer at Webster Five Cents Savings Bank. She began her career with the bank in 2000 and held various positions before being promoted to lending officer of the business banking division two years ago. She is a graduate of Nichols College, and will work out of Webster Five's Worcester office.
KATHARINE DENAULT, CAROLYN PLATT and MARGARET (MEG) RAMSEY were named to the board of directors of The Discovery Museums in Acton. Denault, of Acton, has been involved with the museums since 1980. Platt, of Acton, a founding board member, served as board chair. She is a teacher, most recently in the Carlisle schools. Ramsey, of Lincoln, has been involved with The Discovery Museums for more than 15 years through the Ramsey McCluskey Foundation.
ROBERT J. CALLAHAN and HOWARD B. HIMMEL were hired by Hudson-based Avidia Bank. Callahan is senior vice president and sales manager. A Hopedale resident, he was most recently employed by Santander Bank. Himmel is vice president of community association banking. A graduate of Northeastern University, he previously worked for Rockland Trust.
WILLIAM GREENE was hired by North Middlesex Savings Bank, based in Ayer, as a mortgage lender. He is a licensed loan originator with more than a decade of experience.
MICHAEL TUDINO was hired by Whitinsville-based UniBank as assistant vice president of cash management sales. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. Also at UniBank, ADAM P. LOHNES, who has been with the bank for more than three years, was promoted to vice president and commercial banking officer. He's a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
STEVE RYAN was hired as a sales executive in the Marlborough office of Murphy Insurance Agency. He was most recently a claim and IT director at NorthStar Insurance Services and specializes in risks related to contractors and technology organizations. Ryan, a Hudson resident, earned a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University.
DANIEL HOGAN was promoted to vice president of utility construction for Auburn-based R.H. White Construction Co. Inc. He joined the firm in 1985 and was promoted from superintendent, to project manager, to division manager. A resident of Auburn, Hogan is a graduate of Westfield State University.
JACQUELINE BEAULIEU was hired by BlueHive, a Worcester design and exhibit firm, as executive director of healthcare events and education. She was formerly executive director of the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association. Beaulieu will be based in Atlanta, where she lives.
ARMANDO GONZALEZ and SARAH KRATZ have both been promoted by Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions of Southbridge. Gonzalez, of Southbridge, was named technical coordinator. He has been with the company for 25 years. Kratz will serve as logistics coordinator. She has been with the company for 13 years.
DR. KATRIN LEADLEY was hired as chief medical officer at HeartWare International of Framingham, effective Sept. 1. She spent the past three years in the same role at JenaValve Technology in Munich, Germany. Leadley, who earned her medical degree at Ludwig — Maximilian University Medical School in Munich, succeeds Dr. David Hathaway, who is retiring.
BRADLEY NEWSOME was hired as project manager for Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects of Hopkinton for the company's building envelope sciences division. He's a registered roofing observer and has expertise in infrared thermography, moisture surveys and water testing.
MAURA PEELER was promoted to regional vice president of operations for True North Hotel Group. She will oversee seven properties in the Northeast, including Devens Hilton Garden Inn, Devens SpringHill Suites and Devens Common Center. The Grafton resident holds a bachelor's degree from Johnson & Wales University.
CLANTHA MCCURDY, LINDA NOONAN and ALLEN J. FALKE were elected as new members of the Massachusetts Education & Career Opportunities Board of Directors, based in Worcester. McCurdy is senior deputy commissioner for access and student financial assistance at the Mass. Department of Higher Education. Noonan is executive director of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education. Falke is with Worcester law firm Mirick O'Connell.
MICHAEL KILMER, a Worcester resident, has joined marketing firm (add)ventures of Providence, R.I., as manager of engineering/digital. Kilmer, a front-end Web developer, holds a degree in visual design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
