GARETH CHARTER is now director of sales for the Worcester region at MassLive, a news service. He has more than 27 years of experience in the media business, first as a weekly newspaper reporter and most recently in the marketing services division of Gannett, and as a digital consultant for marketing and media companies. He was publisher of Holden Landmark Corporation from 2004 to 2012, and during that time oversaw the company's acquisition of Worcester Magazine. He lives in Needham.
JOEL BARRERA was elected chair of board at MetroWest Health Foundation, a healthcare funding provider in Framingham. An eight-year veteran of the board, Barrera is the deputy chief of staff for cabinet affairs in the Office of Governor Charlie Baker. He lives in Natick.
KIMBERLY SAMBUCHI has been promoted to first vice president, information management at MutualOne Bank in Framingham. She is a graduate of Boston University and the New England School for Financial Studies and received her master's in business administration from Framingham State University. She joined MutualOne in 2002 and was most recently vice president of operations. She has also held positions in the retail and client service areas at the bank.
CARMELA CANAL is now in charge of operations and data processing at MutualOne Bank in Framingham. Canal, who has been with the bank since 1988, was previously branch administrator. She is a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies and earned a degree in business management from Newbury College.
KIMBERLY COHEN is now coordinator of internal bank controls at MutualOne Bank. She will also provide support for other departments within the bank. A certified public accountant, Cohen is a graduate of Assumption College and Framingham State University, where she received a master's degree in business. Before joining the bank in 2014, she worked at Middlesex Savings Bank and Gerald T. Reilly & Co.
TIMOTHY M. BIBAUD was elected as a director at the Health Foundation in Worcester. He is the first justice at Dudley District Court and the founder of Dudley Drug Court, the first drug court in Worcester County. Before being appointed to the bench in 2010, Bibaud was an assistant district attorney for more than 20 years and served as the central district court supervisor. He also ran and founded the gang and organized crime units.
ANTHONY EMERSON is now a director at the Health Foundation in Worcester. He is the CEO of the IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg, one of the state's largest credit unions. In addition to Fitchburg, IC Federal Credit Union has branches in Ayer, Leominster, Westminster and Worcester.
CYNTHIA BERGER was hired as vice president of operations at Averica Discovery in Marlborough. In this newly-created role, Berger will report directly to CEO Jeff Kiplinger and is expected to help spearhead growth and development. She received her Ph.D. in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, and most recently served as project manager at contract managing organization PCI Synthesis, where she oversaw multimillion dollar projects manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients. Previously, she was vice president and co-founder of instrumentation firm CRO Pion and led its successful sale to an investment group.
MATTHEW BROTHERS joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch's business banking team as vice president and relationship manager in North Central Massachusetts. A graduate of Brandeis University, Brothers has 11 years of business banking and relationship management experience, including various retail banking positions at Bank of America, as a business development officer at Citibank and as a senior client manager at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In his new role, he will manage relationships with new and existing clients to help mid-sized local businesses grow and plan for the future and will also deliver strategic financial advice. He lives in Lunenburg with his wife and twin sons.
MARGARET PADOVANO is now vice president, home loan specialist at Fidelity Bank, based in the Gardner and Leominster offices. Padovano has more than 50 years of banking experience and 25 years of mortgage experience, including portfolio, land, construction and equity loans, as well as refinancing. She was previously a vice president, residential mortgage loan officer, at Rollstone Bank & Trust. Padovano is a member of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce and its Executive Women's Network. She lives in Fitchburg.
BRENNAN R. CAMPBELL has been promoted to vice president, commercial relationship manager at Fidelity Bank in Worcester. He was previously assistant vice president, relationship manager. A graduate of Nichols College, Campbell has more than 12 years of banking experience. He advises the bank's commercial lending clients on industry risks, business cycles and growth opportunities. He lives in Auburn and is a volunteer at SHINE Initiative, a bank-affiliated nonprofit dedicated to fighting mental illness in children and teens.
