KERRIE K. GONDOLA was promoted to manager at AAFCPAs, an accounting firm in Westborough. Gondola, a leader in the firm's ERISA practice, specializes in serving commercial clients in software, high-tech, manufacturing and distribution, consulting and publishing industries. She specializes in auditing 401K and 403B defined contribution, defined benefit and health and welfare plans. She serves as a mentor for AAFCPA's client Year Up, spending time with a mentoring a younger person.
RYAN O'HEARN is now mortgage loan originator in the retail lending department at Webster Five Cents Savings Bank in Webster. He will cultivate business relationships with members of the community – including Dudley and Worcester – to obtain residential mortgage loans. O'Hearn worked for 11 years in all areas of lending, including mortgage, consumer and business lending. He joined Webster Five Cents from TD Bank, where he spent three years as a branch manager. Before that, he worked as a branch manager at Citizen's Bank for eight years. He attended the Community College of Rhode Island and volunteers for Relay for Life, Cradles to Crayons and at local animal shelters.
KATHERINE DEARBORN and THERESA BASQUE both were promoted at Rollstone Bank & Trust, which is based in Fitchburg. They will both oversee the deposit operations department, which manages electronic banking channels, provides customer service and handles functions critical to the bank's operations. Dearborn, a graduate of the New England School of Financial Studies, was promoted to vice president. She started working at the bank 42 years ago as a part-time clerk while a freshman in high school. Since then, she has worked in the retail and technology departments and was named the first manager of the eBanking department in 2003. Most recently, she was vice president, eBanking manager. Basque, now assistant vice president, is also a Rollstone Bank & Trust veteran who got her start there 27 years ago as a teller and worked her way up through the retail division to branch manager. She joined the bank's operations department in 2000 to focus on Individual Retirement Account (IRA) administration and deposit compliance. Both Basque and Dearborn are lifelong residents of Leominster.
PETER OFMAN has joined Nashoba Valley Medical Center as a cardiologist. He will provide general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology services to patients, including screenings, pacemaker implantation and other procedures, maintenance and follow-up care. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed a residency in internal medicine at Brown University Program Hospitals. He also completed several fellowships, including one in cardiovascular diseases at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, a cardiac electrophysiology and preventative cardiology fellowship at Brigham & Women's Hospital and VA Healthcare System in Boston, a cardiac electrophysiology and research fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and a cardiology fellowship at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel.
STEVEN A. THEBODO is now a shareholder at O'Connor, Maloney & Company, P.C., a Worcester accounting firm. He has been with the firm for nearly 15 years, and will continue to provide clients with tax advice and preparation services, consulting services, and financial statement preparation. He is a graduate of Assumption College and past president of the Worcester Young Businessmen's Association and Spencer Exchange Club. He was named to the Worcester Business Journal's 40 under Forty list in 2013.
CHARLES H. EMERSON, professor emeritus of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, was named president-elect of the American Thyroid Association for 2016-2017.
STEPHANIE HYLES joined Leominster Credit Union as senior vice president, chief strategy officer. In this newly created role, Hyles will be responsible for ensuring the credit union provides the best products, services, technology and organizational structure to meet the needs of its members, reporting directly to president and CEO John O'Brien. She has more than 30 years of information technology and financial industry experience, where she focused on keeping credit unions relevant and competitive. She most recently served as vice president of information technology at Direct Federal Credit Union.
