Entercom New England announced the promotion of current vice president of AM sales

JIM RUSHTON

to the newly created position of vice president of sales for Entercom New England. He joined Entercom in 1993 and was named general sales manager of WEEI in 1999, director of sales of WEEI and WRKO in 2001 and vice president of AM Sales in 2005.

Dr.

MICHAEL TOFANO

has joined UMass Memorial Medical Group and UMass Memorial Medical Center as a hospitalist. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and he completed his residency at St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center in New York City, where he served as chief medical resident. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in New Brunswick.

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts in Worcester appointed

LAURA SPENCER

director of marketing. Spencer has more than 20 years experience in sales, marketing and public relations. Prior to the YMCA, she was the owner of a successful family business in Framingham for more than a decade.

BRIAN LEDWITH

has joined Framingham Co-operative Bank as vice president and member of the commercial lending team. He has more than 17 years of experience in commercial and real estate investment lending. Most recently, he was vice president/senior retail lending officer and commercial lending officer at Benjamin Franklin Bank.

The Better Ending Partnership, a community coalition of professional, civic, business and religious leaders in Worcester, has announced new officers to its board of directors. They are:

LESLIE FISH

has been elected as a new board director. The 13-member board oversees the work of the partnership, which seeks to educate Central Massachusetts residents on how to prepare in advance for serious illness.

The Worcester-based law firm of Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple announced

have been named directors with the firm. The attorneys serve clients from both the Worcester and Framingham offices. Cocchiarella concentrates her practice in various aspects of civil litigation and regularly represents businesses and individuals in contract and other commercial disputes. Guarino's practice concentrates on tax and estate planning, assisting individual clients with selecting appropriate estate plans for their family and financial circumstances.

Methods Machine Tools of Sudbury has appointed

JAMES J. "JAMIE" HANSON

to the newly created position of director of corporate development.  Hanson comes to Methods Machine Tools from Applied Materials Inc., where he spent 17 years.

Worcester-based Blue Sky Biotech Inc. has promoted

DENIS KOLE

to manager of fermentation. He has been employed by Blue Sky Biotech for more than three years and his responsibilities now include oversight of all bacterial and yeast fermentations as well as management of junior staff as the fermentation group continues to grow.

Fallon Community Health Plan has appointed

MARY RITTER

to vice president of strategy and planning. Most recently, she served as the assistant vice president of strategic planning at FCHP. Before coming to FCHP, she was vice president of regional operations for Hanover Insurance Co.

ELIZABETH THORNTON

has been appointed to the Mass-achusetts Workforce Investment Board. Thornton is the founder and CEO of the training and consulting firm Entrepreneurship Advantage Inc. in Southborough. JOHN O'BRIEN has also been appointed to the board. O'Brien is the CEO of Worcester-based UMass Memorial Health Care Inc. Both were appointed to this position by Gov. Deval Patrick.
