PATRICE GRANT joined High Performance Learning Inc. in Framingham as client services director, a new position for the firm. She was previously with Aberdeen Group, where she worked as a senior account executive, and before that, at Framingham-based MResult, where she was vice president of business development. Grant holds a bachelor's degree from Westfield State University and an MBA from Bentley University.
DR. DIANA RABKINA joined Southbridge-based Harrington Physician Services' pediatric practice. Board-certified in pediatrics, Rabkina, a native of Russia, most recently worked at Aspirus Pediatrics in Wausau, Wis. She has also worked as a pediatrician at Newport Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine in Newport, Vt. Rabkina has also served as a research associate at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She completed her education (medical doctorate and Ph.D.) in Russia, at First Moscow Medical Academy.
KATHRYN LATOUR, SANTO MOJICA and CASSANDRA DAY were appointed, and KAYSIE LAROCHELLE promoted, by Oxford-based Hometown Bank. Latour, of Brookfield, manager of the Sturbridge branch office since 2006, was named branch manager of the Oxford office. Mojica, of Sturbridge, was appointed information technology manager, a newly created position. Day was named senior accountant. A resident of Oxford, she holds a bachelor's degree from Suffolk University. Larochelle, of Webster, was promoted from teller to customer service representative II. She has a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University.
DR. EMILY ANGIULO, a veterinarian, was hired by VCA Abbott Animal Hospital in Worcester. She was previously an intern at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, following a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Angiulo holds dual undergraduate degrees from Pennsylvania State University — in international politics and French — and a veterinary degree from Tufts University's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
JOYCE KRESSLER, LAURIE LESHIN, TIMOTHY P. MURRAY, DOUGLAS SCOTT and SUSAN WINDHAM-BANNISTER were named to the Governor's STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Advisory Council. Kressler is director of the Worcester Incubator for Innovation; Leshin is president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute; Murray is president and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce; and Scott is a teacher at Natick High School and Mass. STEM Teacher of the Year.
DR. SARIKA AGGARWAL, JEAN G. MCMURRAY and DR. GISELA VELEZ were elected directors of The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts. Aggarwal is senior vice president and chief medical officer at Fallon Health. McMurray is executive director of the Worcester County Food Bank, and Velez an ophthalmologist with offices in Ayer and Worcester. Meanwhile, DR. JOHN P. GUSHA was elected chairman; DR. MICHAEL J. MUTCHLER vice chairman; ANN K. TRIPP, treasurer; DR. LYDIA M. YOUNG secretary; and LUIS G. PEREZ, executive committee member.
JIM ALGIE was hired as senior vice president and commercial loan officer at North Brookfield Savings Bank. He was most recently first senior vice president at Country Bank, and has nearly 40 years of experience in commercial banking. He has also served as a commercial lending team leader in Rhode Island for the former Shawmut Bank. He holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
KEES BREEUWSMA was hired, and BILL STEWICH and MIKE SOFOS promoted at Hudson-based office furniture manufacturer AIS. Breeuwsma, formerly vice president of premium marketing, is vice president of seating products. He held executive roles both nationally and internationally at Teknion, Kimball and Steelcase. He's a graduate of Erasmus University Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, and received an MBA from Michigan State University. Stewich was named executive vice president of product development. He has been with AIS for 23 years and served as vice president of product development and engineering. Sofos was promoted to design engineering manager. He joined AIS in 2005, and has been a design engineer for the past eight years. He's a graduate of University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Technological Educational Institute of Athens.
NATHAN D. SALLER was hired and SOKHA THONG promoted at Workers' Credit Union, headquartered in Fitchburg. Saller is senior vice president of strategy development and member experience. He was previously vice president of sales and marketing at Bellwether Community Credit Union in Manchester, N.H. He graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Mo., and received an MBA from the University of New Hampshire. Thong was promoted to assistant vice president and regional manager. She was previously branch manager in Chelmsford. MICHELLE L. ROBBINS of Littleton, previously branch manager in Acton, will manage the credit union's Chelmsford branch.
SUZANNE PARSONS and JOHN E. MANNILA were hired by UniBank, based in Whitinsville. Parsons is senior vice president and director of human resources and training. Mannila is a vice president with the commercial lending team. The Worcester resident has more than 20 years of experience in commercial lending and holds a bachelor's degree from Nichols College.
JODI KOEMAN was hired as executive director of Community Harvest Project in North Grafton. She was previously director of community restoration at New England Chapel in Franklin — and before that the group's creative arts director — and a Community Harvest Project volunteer. She has also served as facilities director and a grant writer for Girls Inc. in Worcester. She holds a bachelor's degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., and a master's from Boston University.
JOHN HEFFERNAN has been appointed vice president of manufacturing at Ocata Therapeutics (formerly Advanced Cell Technology) of Marlborough. The pharmaceutical industry veteran joins the company from Genzyme, where he worked for 18 years. He has also held manufacturing roles with Gene-Trak, Behring Diagnostics, Boston Scientific and Baxter. He holds a master's degree from Suffolk University and a bachelor's degree from Stonehill College.
