The board of The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts elected three new members to serve three-year terms: THOMAS GREGORY, the Spencer town administrator; JULIE MEEHAN, the executive director of the Gardner Community Action Committee; and JENNIFER WARD, the director of the Milford Youth Center. They join three others who were re-elected: CHELSEY M. PATRISS, executive director of Community Health Network of North Central Massachusetts; SHELLY YARNIE, director of local public health initiatives for the state Department of Public Health; and KEITH KIRKLAND, vice president and business lending officer for Webster Five.
CAROLYN GRIDER of Hopedale has been promoted to vice president and manager of branch administration at UniBank in Whitinsville, overseeing operations of UniBank's 14-location retail division. She has been with UniBank for 10 years, most recently managing its customer contact center. She has 30 years of experience in the industry and has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and psychology from Assumption College in Worcester.
EMILY GOWDEY-BACKUS is the new director of communications for the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. She is the editor of the chamber's quarterly newspaper, hosts its radio program and runs its social media accounts. She previously reported for the Providence Business News and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Gowdey-Backus received her bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University in New York and holds a master's degree in international journalism from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
BONNIE B. LOSAVIO of Southbridge is the new director of human resources at the Worcester Art Museum. She joins the art museum from Cornerstone Bank, where she was the vice president and human resources business partner. Losavio has a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University.
MELISSA RANDALL is the new corporate communications manager at the Worcester health insurer Fallon Health, with responsibilities including developing communication and public relations strategies. Randall is a former news anchor for ABC6 WLNE TV in Providence. She was previously a reporter for Worcester News Tonight and has a bachelor's degree in communications from Curry College in Milton.
MICHAEL JISER, a general surgeon, has joined the medical staff at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer and Steward Medical Group. Jiser received his medical degree from the New York Medical College and completed his residency at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, N.Y.
MICHAEL FORD has joined Southborough network security company Technium Inc. as director of strategic initiatives and chief information security officer. Ford, who has a 25-year career in information technology, joins Technium to further develop the company's ecosystem partnerships, security program and operational quality.
STEPHANIE LUZ has been promoted by Avidia Bank of Hudson to assistant vice president and business banking officer. Luz joined Avidia Bank in 2015 and was most recently a retail market manager. She has more than 25 years of banking experience.
JENNIFER MAYNARD is the new site director for Summit ElderCare on Grafton Street in Worcester, overseeing all daily operations of Fallon Health's operations at the facility. Maynard previously worked as director of compliance and program operations for the MassHealth accountable care organization and managed care organization programs. She is a registered nurse and holds a bachelor's degree and a master's of public administration degree from UMass Boston.
ANDREW JAVIER and JACQUELYN BAUM have joined Lamoureux Pagano Associates | Architects of Worcester. Javier, a Boston Architectural College graduate, has nearly 10 years of experience and will contribute to the firm's work on a new South High Community School in Worcester. Baum, a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute graduate, has more than five years of experience and is working on projects for Clark University and Worcester State University.
