Movers and Shakers

Framingham-based Polachi & Co., Inc. has hired CHRISTOPHER PALATUCCI as practice leader. In his role, Palatucci will oversee the firm’s life sciences division, managing the strategic direction of the team and further expand the practice. Most recently, he served as senior director, business development and licensing at Interleukin Genetics, Inc. Before joining Interleukin, he was director of business development at Athena Diagnostics, Inc., where he commercialized over 20 new products.

Verizon Wireless has named KEN DIXON president of the New England region, replacing retiring BOB STOTT. Dixon has been with Verizon since 1992, serving in a range of roles from sales to marketing management positions. He will oversee the carrier’s distribution strategy, including the expansion of its company-owned Communications Stores. Dixon most recently served as president of the company’s Upstate New York and Georgia regions.

Marlboro-based Egenera has named AL LANZETTAas senior vice president of operations and worldwide services. He most recently served as Egenera’s vice president of worldwide enterprise services, and previously served as vice president of global field operations and field support for EMC Global Services, and was also vice president of global customer service for the Data General Division of EMC. Egenera specializes in software designed to simplify datacenter applications.

Northboro-based Aspen Aerogels has named HARRY WALKOFF as vice president of sales and marketing for Hydrocarbon Processing Industries. Walkoff will lead a charge to further the growth of Aspen Aerogel’s oil and gas production and processing applications. He previously served as vice president of marketing for FOAMGLAS and Glass Block products with Pittsburgh Corning Corp.

ROBERT LAPOINTE has been promoted to COO and senior vice president at Danvers-based RPB Systems & Services, which has a regional office in Worcester. He will oversee RPB’s expansion and growth of its office equipment products and services to key vertical markets. He has been with RPB for five years and previously served as Vice

President of Dealer Operations for RISO, Inc. and held several positions at Savin Corp.

The Colleges of Worcester Consortium Inc. has named KAREN MANSON director of student affairs, and MICHAEL VIGNEUX director of public affairs. Manson will be responsible for the delivery and oversight of Consortium activities that enrich students’ experiences while matriculating at member colleges and universities, including the Consortium’s new online internship database. She previously spent six years as a student activities administrator at Assumption College, most recently as associate director. Vigneux will work at the local, regional and national levels to enhance the image of the Consortium, its college and university members, as well as Worcester and the region. Vigneux most recently served as assistant director of public affairs at Assumption College.

Clark University has appointed LYDIA PASTUSZEK of Sudbury as special adviser to the president for marketing and corporate affairs. She will coordinate development of the University’s marketing plan as well as coordinate the University’s many interactions with the business world. Pastuszek formerly served as senior vice president at National Grid USA. She is on the board of the Sudbury Housing Authority and volunteers with the land trust organization, Sudbury Valley Trustees.

WILLIAM GREENE of Holden has been appointed senior vice president, commercial loan officer at Fitchburg Savings Bank. Greene has more than 30 years of commercial lending experience. In his new role at the Bank, he will work with commercial loan officers on business development and help to structure loans. He will also oversee the credit department function. Greene has served on the board of the Worcester Historical Museum and on the United Way Fund Raising Committee.

Worcester-based Bisceglia, Steiman & Fudeman, LLP has admitted HAROLD HOUGH, CPA a partner. Hough continues to manage and serve business clients in Central Massachusetts with offices in Worcester and Southbridge.
