Movers and Shakers

Maynard-based Covergence has named WILLIAM REID as vice president of sales. He joins Covergence from Juniper Networks, a Sunnyvale,CA-based company specializing in building IP platforms where he served as vice president of Sales, Session Border Controllers. Prior to that, he was vice president of worldwide sales for Kagoor Networks, a company later acquired by Juniper in 2005. Reid has also held positions with Luminous Networks, Cisco Systems, and Racal-Datacom Inc. In his position with Covergence, Reid will lead worldwide sales efforts, helping the company to expand its sales and marketing efforts, as well as enhancing its sales channel strategy. Covergence provides border-control devices allowing users to connect to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.

Littleton-based equestrian products marketer Dover Saddlery Inc., a marketer of equestrian products, has named RICHARD ST. GEORGE as director of merchandising. St. George joins the company from Crane & Co., where he held the position of general merchandising manager. Before that, St. George was vice president of merchandising with Eastern Mountain Sports. St. George has also worked in various merchandising roles with The Gap Stores Inc. and Pottery Barn. In his new role, St. George will manage the buying group and be responsible for developing and implementing the multi-channel merchandising strategy, and will report to Jonathan Grylls, chief operating officer.

Westboro-based Globoforce has named BEN MIELE as vice president of sales, North America, in a Boston-based position. Miele joins the company from Webhire, a Boston-based talent-management software firm. While there, Miele was vice president of sales and business development, handling new customer acquisition and business development initiatives. Prior to that, Miele was responsible for the Information Technology Practice at Brainshark, Inc., a Waltham-based media communications firm. He also held positions with Envoy Worldwide and Sitara Networks Inc.

Worcester-based Paid Inc. has named KEITH GARDE president of Paid Celebrity Services, after operating in a consultant role for the past two years with the company. Garde will oversee business strategy and new business development for the firm, which provides celebrity services such as web site design, ticketing and fan experience packages, and fan club services. Garde has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 25 years, and currently is president of his own Boston-based firm that manages national talent and provides consulting services.

Westboro-based Virtusa Corp. has appointed JIM FRANCIS as senior vice president of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BSFI) business. In this role, Francis will be expected to building client relationships for Virtusa, a firm specializing in IT consulting, technology, and outsourcing services. Prior to joining the company, Francis was vice president of Consulting Services and Managing Partner at Neovera, an IT consulting firm headquartered in Virginia. Francis also previously worked for American Management Systems, spending 18 years at the Montreal, Quebec-based IT consulting company.

Worcester-based Stowe & Degon has made KEITH ERICKSON, CPA a partner in the firm. Erickson is the director of SEC Client Services at Stowe & Degon and has served there for 2 1/2 years. Stowe & Degon has offices in Worcester and Manchester, N.H., and serves clients throughout New England.

TD Banknorth Massachusetts has promoted PATRICIA CAISSE to assistant vice president in the bank’s Leominster branch as well as in one on Summer Street in Fitchburg, according to a company press release. She will manage the daily operations of the two branches.

Jan. 11 (Thu.): "Worcester: Finding Your Way" Community Input Meeting: The Worcester Wayfinding Project is a public-private partnership between the City of Worcester and its business, higher education and cultural communities. Its mission is to develop a wayfinding system of signage, destination identifiers and information kiosks to featuring directions and a sense of Worcester’s rich cultural history and future. Community input meetings are being held in each of the City’s five Council Districts to solicit the public’s input on three specific themes: 1) checking destinations within each district; 2) stories that are crucial to establishing the districts identity; and 3) symbols or icons that reflect each district’s identity.
