Mount Wachusett opens doors to displaced ITT Tech students

The abrupt closure of all 137 campuses of the ITT Technical Institute has left approximately 35,000 students out in the cold, and Mount Wachusett Community College has announced it will work with them to find them a place at the school.

The announcement comes after the closure of ITT on Sept. 7 after it was not able to enroll students receiving federal financial aid. This closure has impacted approximately 500 students in Massachusetts, according to MWCC.

The college announced in a release it is encouraging ITT students to meet with an admissions counselor at the Gardner campus, as credits may be earned for college-level learning through alternative educational experiences such as ITT. MWCC offers more than 70 academic degree and certificate programs as well as advanced manufacturing and workforce training options.
