Community First Bank Loan Services of Maryland has opened its first Massachusetts branch in Worcester.
The bank mortgage lending office opened Tuesday in the first floor of the old Heywood Boot & Shoe Co. building at 70 Winter St. in the Canal District. It offers various mortgage programs for purchases or refinancing.
Gary Bates, a Worcester native and founder of Lendia Inc., heads the branch. Lendia, a Worcester-based mortgage lender, was acquired by Virgin Money USA in 2008.
