A new steel mill to be erected in Zhejiang Province, China has ordered a bar reducing/sizing mill from Worcester's Morgan Construction, a Siemens VAI business.
The new mill is expected to be commissioned early next year and will produce 800,000 tons of specialty bar quality steel per year.
The mill includes the Morgan reducing/sizing mill, which allows for greater operating efficiency, improved product tolerances and mechanical properties, the company said.
Quzhou Yuanli Metal Products Co. Ltd., an iron and steel manufacturer, is erecting the mill. Currently, the company produces 500,000 tons of steel and 300,000 tons of metal products annually.
Siemens VAI commissioned a rod mill for Yuanli at the same site in 2007.
