Rick Walton, owner of Moon Hill Brewing Co. in Gardner, has received a $50,000 Economic Recovery Fund loan from the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., the financing arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, the chamber announced on Monday.
Moon Hill Brewing Co. began in 2006, originally at Gardner Ale House, forming the only full-menu brewpub in North Central Massachusetts and Worcester County, according to the chamber. Moon Hill currently offers 14 craft beers, available on tap both at Gardner Ale house and other local pubs and restaurants.
The NCMDC loan has helped retain 25 full-time jobs and 70 part-time jobs, according to the chamber.
NCMDC is a microloan lender and may provide loans to small businesses up to $150,000 for working capital, equipment, inventory, expansion and, in conjunction with banking partners, gap financing for the financial piece of a project.
