Worcester County recorded 12 new coronavirus deaths and 190 new cases Monday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The new cases are a 2% increase from Sunday, and bring the total to 9,442. Statewide, there were 1,042 new cases contributing to the overall total of 87,052.
The new deaths in Worcester County bring the total to 581. Throughout Massachusetts there was a slight decline in daily coronavirus deaths with 65 new fatalities bringing the tally to 5,682.
The Department of Public Health also reports 8,373 new coronavirus tests given as of Monday with 469,199 to date.
The City of Worcester reports 54 new cases, up 2%, bringing the total to 3,522.
UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester reported 236 total inpatient coronavirus cases on Monday, with 88 in intensive care. The two hospital systems have had a total 223 coronavirus related deaths, and 282 employees have tested positive.
MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick report 61 suspected or confirmed cases, and Milford Regional Medical Center reports 37, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Between the hospitals there are 21 cases in the ICU. Other Central Massachusetts hospitals such as Harrington Hospital, Heywood Hospital, and HealthAlliance in Leominster report 53 confirmed or suspected coronavirus cases, with 10 in intensive care.
Nationally, there are more than 1.5 million cases, and more than 90,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, there are now more than 4.7 million cases and more than 317,000 deaths.
