Westborough-based United Medical Systems, a mobile medical services provider, has been recognized for its ability to administer kidney stone lithotripsy and urological laser procedures safely and effectively, the company announced last week.
The company received advanced lithotripsy & laser certifications from the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program, which offers the only industry-specific certification for kidney stone lithotripsy and urological laser procedures, according to United.
United demonstrated its capability to continuously monitor improvements, said Lawrence Haspel, chairman of the Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation for the HFAP.
According to the company, United Medical Systems is the driving force behind the concept of shared mobile medical services -- lithotripsy and stereotactic breast biopsy. The company serves more than 850 facilities in the U.S. and also operates in Canada, Chile and Peru.
