Clark University has hired Joe Manok to fulfill the responsibility of a chief development officer, starting on Jan. 23. His official title will be vice president for university advancement.
Manok has served in various senior-level positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Office of Resource Development since 2014, currently as senior director of philanthropic partnerships and previously as director of global initiatives. Before that, he worked at the American University of Beirut.
At Clark in Worcester, Manok will have full leadership over fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, and alumni engagement, according to a Wednesday press release from Clark.
The 135-year-old university is the midst of a handful of development under new President David Fithian, including a new media arts building, the purchase of a nearby seven-acre parcel that expands its footprint 15%, and the drawing of $100 million in financing to fund development plans.
“I am honored by the appointment and the opportunity to join President Fithian’s exceptional team at Clark,” Manok said in the press release. “Clark has a rightful place among the most impactful and distinctive institutions. I am excited to get to work with my university advancement colleagues to broaden awareness and appreciation for all that is special about Clark and inspire deeper support for the University.”
