Milford Regional Medical Center is taking additional precautions to add capacity for treating coronavirus patients and keeping staff and patients healthy.
The hospital said Thursday it is suspending ultrasound services at campuses in Franklin and in Whitinsville, and mammography services in Franklin. It is also changing patient pick-up locations at the Milford hospital, with patients discharged through the Imaging Center on the hospital's first floor.
Elective surgeries have already been postponed in most cases, and most outpatient services are urged to be rescheduled.
Some other services are continuing, including X-ray services for walk-in patients at urgent care locations in Milford, Franklin, Hopkinton and Northbridge. Imagining services at the hospital's Women's Pavilion will be open only on Thursdays.
Milford Regional has previously announced a ban on all visitors with some exceptions, including a birthing partner in the maternity unit, for end-of-life care, and a parent or guardian for a child. All patients and visitors are being screened before entering the hospital.
The main lobby remains closed, with patients and visitors directed to enter and exit through the Hill Health Center, Imaging Center or Emergency Department.
