Milford Regional Medical Center has been awarded a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a federal agency part of the Department of Health and Human Services, the hospital announced on Thursday.
The star-rating program uses several areas when determining how to grade healthcare centers, including mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, timely and effective care and efficient use of medical imaging, according to Milford Regional.
One of 455 hospitals in the country to receive the ranking, Milford Regional was the only hospital in Central Mass. to achieve the designation.
“This is a testament to the extraordinarily high quality, safe care provided by the team of providers and caregivers at MRMC” said Bert Thurlo-Walsh, vice president & chief quality officer, in a statement.
