Fitchburg contract manufacturer Micron Solutions on Wednesday announced a multi-year agreement worth at least $3 million annually with it’s largest customer.
Micron provides components for a variety of industries, including medical, military and law enforcement and will be the exclusive manufacturer of injection molded products, which are sold by the unnamed customer worldwide.
Micron said it has already received purchase orders of $3.4 million for the first year, with the expectation that future shipments will be total between $3 million and $4 million in subsequent years.
Production is expected to start in the first quarter.
When reached by phone, the company’s investor relations department forwarded requests for comment on the unnamed company to CFO Derek Welch, who did not immediately return a call.
In a statement, Micron President and CEO Salvatore Emma said his company has collaborated closely with the mysterious company for five years.
“Micron has developed a number of highly automated and accurate manufacturing cells, which can produce millions of parts per day,” said Emma. “Micron and its customer share in the automation investment to keep costs competitive while improving quality and delivery reliability.”
The company last November reported a 2017 net loss of $990,000 through the first three quarters on revenues of $15.5 million, compared to a net loss of $390,000 on revenues of $14.8 million for the same period in 2016.
