Medical device maker Micron Products‘ Fitchburg headquarters will be the evaluation site for a German company’s injection molding machine, the company announced.
Arburg, which is based in Lossburg, Germany, chose Micron to evaluate a new, all-electric injection molding machine, which is an alternative to hydraulic models.
The electric model has reduced cycle times, is more energy efficient and is designed to minimize emissions, which Micron said makes it ideal for producing medical components in a clean room.
Micron said it had already been using an earlier electric molding machine manufactured by Arburg. The newest model will be used to make the company’s electrode sensors for the medical industry.
