Westborough medical technology firm Miach Orthopaedics, Inc. of Westborough announced on Monday it has named Christopher Joyce as vice president and chief financial officer.
Joyce replaces James Ness, who will continue with Miach as a consultant.
Miach develops bioengineered surgical implants for connective tissue restoration, particularly looking at torn ligaments in the knee, such as the ACL.
Joyce brings more than three decades of experience in managing finance and operations. Most recently, he spent two years as a consulting CFO for several biotech and medical device startups, per Miach’s announcement. Before that, he was CFO of FRX Polymers, a material science company in Chelmsford, and two medical device companies, Elemé Medical and Percardia.
Concurrent with Joyce’s hiring, Orthopaedics announced it was naming Kevin Sidow to its company’s board of directors. Sidow has 35 years of experience in the biomedical field, including as president and CEO for Moximed, Inc. and St. Francis Medical Technologies Inc., both of California.
