A holistic approach to wealth management

MetroWest Financial Partners, LLC offers broad wealth management strategies for accomplished individuals, families and the ownership team of closely-held businesses. The team of experts in tax, accounting, financial , estate and business planning help their clients enhance and protect their accumulated wealth. Strategies are developed to overcome potential obstacles to clients’ success, and a range of tools, financial and otherwise, are reviewed.

"Our model is unique. Rarely are business owners, CPA, attorney, Certified Financial Planner, and risk management consultants found in one location," says Armand Diarbekirian, LUTCF, CLTC, the managing partner. He points out that the partners offer combined experience of more than 80 years. "We take into consideration everything from liability insurance to estate planning."

Unlike others in the industry, MetroWest Financial Partners, LLC isn’t trying to sell their agenda. The group works on a consulting basis. "What we offer is expert, objective advice," says Diarbekirian. "It’s a process driven approach, as opposed to a transactional business approach."

The group’s target market is Baby Boomers, typically those with assets in excess of one million dollars. "Boomers do not plan to retire like their parents did," notes Diarbekirian, "and their retirement years will be marked by a far more complex range of challenges and expectations. As such, they don’t want a cookie-cuter or outdated approach to mapping their financial futures."

Adds partner Bryan Rourke: "This is a group that has successfully acquired assets, but when they need advice, they have to go all over for it-to their bank, their lawyer, their broker. You need a unique set of skills to help your clients navigate the new retirement landscape."

MetroWest Financial Partners, LLC can help individuals and business owners hold on to their assets with the following services:

• Developing family wealth transfer strategies,

• Tailoring investment policy statements and asset allocation plans,

• Providing complex tax planning and modeling,

• Assisting in family business growth and transition,

• Risk management consulting.

"We find that when it comes to retirement, financial plans, or wills, most people use the Ron Popeil approach-’just set it and forget it,’" says Glen H. Neary, partner. "But situations change. In Massachusetts, for example, estate tax law changed dramatically since 2003; yet we find most new clients haven’t changed their wills to reflect those changes."

For example, when MetroWest Financial Partners, LLC reviewed the retirement plan for one of its new clients, the firm found that the beneficiary designations were the client’s ex-wife, who he’d divorced 20 years ago, rather than his three children.

Recently two business partners used the services of MetroWest Financial Partners when they realized that their buy-sell agreement was not properly set up and would have created a problem upon the death of one of the partners. "We helped with financial planning, tax planning and estate planning," recalls Diarbekirian.

The partners note that those who are most in need of financial planning or wealth management services are often the most reluctant to seek help. "Many people don’t understand the terminology, and they don’t want to be presumed ignorant," says Rourke. "

MetroWest Financial Partners shows clients how to maximize their current assets and protect their wealth from being eroded. Says Neary: "We meet the accumulation, preservation and transfer concerns of today’s most successful individuals, families and business owners through innovatiove services and products."
