Member of IPG board of directors retiring

Henry Gauthier, who has served on the board of directors for Oxford laser manufacturer IPG Photonics Corp. since 2006, will retire from the panel next year, according to a filing with the U.S Securities & Exchange Commission. 

IPG did not identify a replacement for Gauthier.

Gauthier, 78, served on the board of Coherent Inc., a manufacturer of photonics products, from 1997 to 2006 and was a former chairman of Reliant Technologies Inc., which was acquired in 2008 by Solta Medical Inc., a medical laser systems maker. 

Since July 1996, Gauthier has served as a principal at Gauthier Consulting. He attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, San Jose State University, and the Executive Institute of the Stanford University Graduate Business School.

His 2018 compensation was $304,676.
