Two Central Mass. manufacturers of medical devices have helped contribute $30 million to a California biomedical company looking to develop a bioelectronic therapy for chronic inflammatory diseases.
Medtronic, a Dublin-based medical device maker with an office in Littleton and Marlborough-based medical tech giant Boston Scientific were among several investors helping providing Series D funding for SetPoint Medical’s development.
SetPoint, based in Valencia, Calif., is developing a bioelectronic medicine platform using a small implanted device activating the body’s natural inflammatory reflex and produces anti-inflammatory effects previously only possible by drugs, according to a press release.Â
The amount each company invested was not available Tuesday.
