An Acton medical marijuana dispensary has been ordered by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission to shut down.
In a tweet, the CCC said Massachusetts Wellspring in Acton was ordered to temporarily cease and desist all operations at the facility.
Per the CCC, officials performed an unannounced inspection during which officers identified violations of the medical marijuana regulations that were determined to pose an immediate or serious threat to the public health, safety and welfare.
Violations include security issues, sanitation, waste disposal and product labeling.
An investigation is ongoing, but no product recalls have been issued, the CCC said.
The cease-and-desist order will remain in effect until the CCC rescinds or amends the order or takes further action like revoking or suspending the dispensary license.
The company’s website was undergoing maintenance on Friday and its social media accounts made no mention of the order.
