American Superconductor Corp. of Devens has promoted Daniel P. McGahn to president and chief operating officer.
McGahn will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and will report to CEO Greg Yurek.
McGahn joined AMSC in 2006 as vice president of strategic planning and corporate development, setting up the company’s operations in China. In 2008, he became senior vice president and general manager of AMSC Superconductors.
Before joining AMSC, McGahn was executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Konarka Technologies and general manager and COO of Hyperion Catalysts.
He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
