Maynard firm begins $26M Lowell health renovation

Maynard construction management firm JM Coull broke ground on the $26-million renovation of the Lowell Community Health Center.

Work began on the 68,000-square-foot, six-floor space in a former mill building that will house a new medical facility for Lowell CHC patients, JM Coull announced Friday.

The space will provide dental, optometry and adult primary care services. The first three floors will include 30 exam rooms, testing rooms, an optical shop, 16 dental operatory rooms, consultation rooms, labs and imaging stations, and support spaces for Lowell CHC’s CARIÑO program for HIV screening, counseling, and treatment. JM Coull will also provide a core and shell fit-out on the fourth floor and code compliance renovations on the fifth and sixth floors.

This project at 101 Jackson St. is JM Coull’s third project for Lowell CHC; the firm also completed medical office renovations on Warren and Merrimack streets in Lowell.
