Maugel Architects of Harvard has acquired a Portsmouth, N.H., firm, it announced Thursday.
The two firms will keep their offices, with DeStefano Architects being rebranded as DeStefano Maugel Architects. Maugel Architects will keep its name and branding.
The firms have a combined 50 years of history, with experience designing commercial, office and residential projects.
Maugel has designed the new 60,000-square-foot Workers Credit Union headquarters being built in Littleton and a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Marlborough for the pharmaceutical firm LFB USA. It designed a renovated ReWalk headquarters in Marlborough, which was completed in 2016, and a 43,000-square-foot office building opened last year at 198 Charlton Road in Sturbridge whose tenants include a Harrington HealthCare doctors’ office.
Maugel’s commercial projects have included the Forge & Vine restaurant in Groton, Battle Road Brew House in Maynard and other developments in Sudbury, Bedford, Burlington, and elsewhere.
DeStefano has experience designing a range of commercial and mixed-use developments in Portsmouth, as well as homes across the area.
