Natick software company MathWorks has donated $1 million to The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Combating COVID-19 Fund.
The software development company announced the donation on Wednesday. The fund supports scientific organizations developing diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines to stop the spread of the virus and help the recovery of those infected. The fund also seeks to protect some of the most vulnerable people living in Africa and South Asia from the immediate impact of COVID-19 while helping their countries prepare for future outbreaks.
“Over the last five years, Bill Gates has become a foremost expert on pandemics, and we’re proud to support the scientifically-driven root cause solutions his foundation is pursuing to fight COVID-19 around the world,” said Jack Little, CEO of MathWorks, in a press release.
