A pothole-repair tracking program being expanded statewide shows Department of Transportation crews repaired at least 520 potholes on the MassPike in Central and Western Massachusetts since January 2016.
The program, which MassDOT announced the expansion last week, allows state crews, businesses and residents to track where potholes have been repaired, and even how much it cost and the type of material used. It has so far included major highways in Central and Western Massachusetts, in particular the Massachusetts Turnpike, Interstate 290 and Route 122A through Holden.
Data collected during the pilot program shows that the state made at least 310 pothole repairs on the Mass. Pike between Sturbridge and Weston last year, and has conducted about 210 pothole repairs between Springfield and Weston this year through Feb. 17, according to the state.
The dashboard showing a map of repaired potholes can be found on the Department of Transportation’s website.
