Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co . will shell out about $1.3 billion in dividends to eligible policy holders in 2008, an 11.2 percent increase over last year. That is the largest payout for the company since 1851, when it was founded. The 2008 payout will top the previous record of $1.25 million in 2007.
