The Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency has been given an “All Inclusive Award” by Color Magazine for promoting minority- and women-owned businesses.
The magazine said the award recognizes MassHousing’s 20 years of promotion of minority- and women-owned businesses in the affordable housing market.
MassHousing’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise program steers developers and contractors of affordable, multi-family housing developments toward such businesses.
In the last 15 years, MassHousing estimates it has generated more than $860 million in economic opportunity for minority- and women-owned businesses.
This year, 536 developments in MassHousing’s rental housing portfolio spent $58 million with minority- and women-owned businesses statewide.
