After advocating for reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac last month, Thomas Gleason, executive director of MassHousing, has been chosen to serve on Fannie Mae’s first affordable housing advisory council.
Council members serve two-year terms. The council will hold its first meeting in June, and is expected to meet twice this year.
Gleason has spent 32 years in affordable housing finance. He is one of 15 people from the industry named to the council.
Last month, Gleason testified before the House Committee on Financial Services in support of reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He testified at the behest of the National Council of State Housing Agencies.
