Road construction will be booming in and around Marlborough in the near future as the state has committed at least $87.8 million in MassDOT projects to take place in the city and the surrounding area.
The announcement, reported by the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation, was made recently by MassDOT Secretary & CEO Stephanie Pollack and are part of a $14.8 billion, five-year capital investment plan put forward by the organization.
“Marlborough has experienced tremendous economic growth over the past few years, and that has resulted in increased use of the local and regional roads and highways. MassDOT’s five-year capital investment plan provides for major improvements to these throughways and accommodates further growth, increased accessibility, and compliance with new safety standards,” Pollack said in a statement.
