MassDevelopment has issued a $6 million tax-exempt bond on behalf of Lancaster nonprofit Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, Inc., a portion of which will be used to replace artificial turf on five soccer fields in the town, as well as repair roads and pathways.
Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, Inc. includes 14 leagues across the state, and caters to players under the age of 19. The fields being updated in Lancaster have been used since 2007, per the announcement.
“The replacement of the artificial turf fields and infrastructure repairs to the facility will ensure our members continue to have a first-class venue to participate in the association’s services, programs and events for many years to come,” said the nonprofit’s president, Bob Trudeau, in a statement.
TD Bank purchased the bond, which will also be used to refinance previously issued debt, per the announcement.
