Member firms of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council have a new benefit thanks to an agreement the council signed for health insurance coverage.
MassBio said Monday it has signed an exclusive agreement with Wellesley health insurer Harvard Pilgrim Health Care to offer what it says is a higher level of benefits at a lower cost. The plan includes medical, dental, life and disability, vision, and voluntary plans.
Access to quality, competitive and inclusive benefits is critical to attracting talent but a burden for many companies, said Robert Coughlin, MassBio’s president and CEO.
Harvard Pilgrim’s Edge Benefits program for MassBio members includes deductibles starting at $500 for individuals and $1,000 for families. Telemedicine virtual visits don’t require a co-pay.
