Massachusetts kicks off STEM Week 2019 in a statewide effort to show young people the opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

In its second year, STEM Week is organized by the Massachusetts Office of Elementary & Secondary Education and the STEM Advisory Council in partnership with the state’s nine Regional STEM Networks.

This year’s theme “See Yourself in STEM” focuses on encouraging groups currently underrepresented in STEM fields, including women and people of color, to pursue an education and career in STEM.

Participants in STEM Week include public schools, higher education institutions, nonprofits and businesses. Local events include a robotics symposium at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a pumpkin-based science event at the Ecotarium, and a 3D printing event at the Worcester library.
