Massachusetts gas prices up 1 cent

Massachusetts gasoline prices are up 1 cent this week, according to automobile membership organization AAA Northeast, but still 30 cents below last year’s prices at this time.

The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded averaged $2.50 per gallon of regular unleaded in the AAA survey. This puts Massachusetts 10 cents below the national average and 30 cents below where Massachusetts prices were at last year at this time.

The increase could be a result of a jump in demand country-wide as well as a draw-down on gasoline stocks, according to AAA.
