Massachusetts Company Aids In Haiti Relief

Earthquake victims in Haiti will soon have new blankets to make them a bit more comfortable, thanks to a Massachusetts-based company and its warehouse partner in Devens.

Lawrence-based Polartec LLC, an international fabric manufacturer, worked with its warehouse partner, NFI Industries, to send a truckload of its lightweight fabric to Miami. From there, Goodwill Industries in Miami will produce blankets from the raw materials and will send them to those impacted by the recent earthquake in Haiti.

Polartec produces fabric for use by top clothing manufacturers as well as all branches of the U.S. military. NFI industries is headquartered in New Jersey.
