Mass. Warns On Gas Price Gouging

With the continuing hikes in gas prices, Massachusetts officials say they’re on guard against price gouging or other trickery by gas stations.

The state’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation sent an alert to field inspectors to watch for unusually high gas prices.

Barbara Anthony, undersecretary of the office, said that while price gouging is uncommon it’s especially important to watch for unfair practices as consumers are already struggling with rising prices.
