Recreational cannabis sales in Massachusetts have hit the $100-million mark, according to state cannabis regulators.Â
Sales eclipsed that mark on Tuesday, as the state ended with a total $104 million in sales since the industry rolled out in November, according to the Cannabis Control Commission.Â
In 2019 alone, the state has seen $88.6 million worth of product sold. In April, there were nearly $29 million in gross sales.
Those figures were given a big boost around April 20, known as the weed smoker’s holiday 4/20, as around $7 million in products were sold between April 16 and April 20.
That’s about a 17% jump from the week prior.Â
State regulators are slowly allowing retailers to open, as 17 have been given authorization to open, including Worcester’s first, Good Chemistry, which opened Wednesday.
