Mass., Israel Unite For R&D
Gov. Deval Patrick has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the nation of Israel designed to encourage collaboration in research and development between Massachusetts and Israeli companies.
The agreement is focused on the life sciences and alternative energy sectors, areas of strength for both Massachusetts and Israel. Patrick said in a statement that the memorandum formalizes an existing relationship and makes it easier to explore new opportunities for joint efforts.
Patrick and other government and business leaders from the state are visiting Israel as part of a 10-day trip focused on business opportunities for Massachusetts companies abroad. The trip also includes a visit to the United Kingdom.
