Mass Humanities, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, has awarded a cumulative $90,508 in grants to nine Central Massachusetts organizations in an effort to support them in the face of ongoing challenges from the coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative, Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan, totaled nearly $1 million. The majority of recipients were organizations with budgets of $300,000 or less, per the announcement.
Grants did not exceed $15,000 and were awarded to retain or recruit staff, replace lost revenue, and rebuild audiences.
