Single-family home sales in Massachusetts rose almost 4 percent in February, according to a report Tuesday from The Warren Group. There were 2,166 single-family homes sold statewide in February, compared with 2,083 in February 2014.
Prices were up, too, for the state. The median sales price of a single-family home in February increased 8.2 percent, from $286,500 a year earlier to $310,000. It was the fifth consecutive month of increases in the median sale prices across the state.
In Worcester County, however, single-family home sales were down slightly compared with February 2014: 310 sales compared with 312 a year earlier.
The median sales price in Worcester County also declined from a year earlier. In February of this year, it was $205,000, compared with $217,000 a year earlier.
Condo sales across the state for the month fell by 1.3 percent with 935 condos sold compared with 947 sold in February 2014, The Warren Group reported. This marked the fourth consecutive month of decreases in condo sales. The median condo price in the Bay State climbed by 2 percent to $286,000 compared with $281,000 in the same month last year.
