Mass. gas prices stabilize for Thanksgiving

Massachusetts' average regular gasoline price is $2.53 per gallon, one cent below the national average heading into Thanksgiving, according to AAA.

The price reflects no change from the week prior, when prices rose 6 cents.

Prices stabilizing is good news for Thanksgiving travelers, the auto club said. Nearly 9 out of every 10 Thanksgiving travelers are going by car.

The price holds steady after two straight weeks of rising after several weeks of decreasing after the post-Hurricane Harvey spike to $2.70 at the beginning of September.

Before Harvey, the average price in Massachusetts was $2.24, according to AAA.
