Massachusetts gasoline prices experienced their third straight week of double-digit decline, having fallen another 11 cents over the last week, according to AAA Southern New England.

A Dec. 29 survey by AAA found that self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.46 per gallon across the state, a 39 cent drop from the previous month. A year ago at this time, the average price was $1 higher at $3.46, according to AAA.

The price remains 17 cents above the national average. There is also variation throughout the state, according to AAA, with prices ranging from a low of $2.23 to a high of $2.89.

Gasoline prices have not been this low since October, 2009, according to AAA.
