Mass. gas prices drop 2 cents

As warmer weather approaches, Massachusetts gasoline prices decreased 2 cents this week, resulting in $2.74 per gallon of regular unleaded, the travel association AAA Northeast announced on Monday.

“We anticipate demand will continue to increase throughout the month as vaccinations become more widely available and weather turns warmer,” said Mary Maguire, AAA northeast director of public and government affairs. “This will lead to fluctuation at the pump throughout the spring season.”

Last week, prices were on an upward trend at $2.76 a gallon, and $2.66 a month ago. A year before, prices were 69 cents lower, standing at $2.05 a gallon.
